Can you help? – Grape squashing experience for Abby

Calling all Vineyards:

We need your help in fulfilling the wish of 13 year old Abby who has stage 3 non Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer.

Abby has been bravely fighting for the last year and even went into remission back in February, but devastatingly she relapsed a month later. Abby is having a break from treatment at the moment as her young body is struggling, but is having further treatment starting at the end of August.

Abby’s family have made the decision to let Abby fulfill as many of her “wishes” as possible in this time.

One of those wishes it to experience traditional grape squashing at a vineyard!

Abby’s family have received donations to help Abby fulfil her wishes but unfortunately have had no luck in being able to locate any vineyards able to help out in granting this experience.

If you can help please get in touch asap.

Many thanks!

English wine-making gets Royal seal of approval

Plumpton College

Plumpton College, East Sussex

Wine-making in England got a boost on Wednesday as the president of the United Kingdom Vineyards Association, HRH Duchess of Cornwall, opened the UK’s first dedicated Wine and Oenology Research Centre, at Plumpton College in neighbouring East Sussex.

“England is now firmly placed as a credible, innovative and exciting wine producing region that is starting to create some of the best sparkling wine in the world.” stated Principal of Plumpton College, Des Lambert.

Mr Lambert was also excited to be able to offer the UK’s first MSc in wine production from September this year.
